A Quick Email to God*
We have gathered
The story of this poem: Where I live, the winter sun is a rare bird.
A QUICK EMAIL TO GOD* Dear God, We have gathered, The citizens of New England, To inform You of our newly created Union, Which comes together around a central protest, That being the unreasonably early sunset That comes with the winter months. Please be aware of Our demands for a more reasonable condition of life: The primary of which being That You remember that You love us. We ask that You remember warm air. We ask that You recall the sun. *God is the name of the blanket we throw over mystery to give it shape. (Barry Taylor, AC/DC roadie)
